Its notes are D, F, G, A, and B. The formula is 1½ W W W 1½. It is the fourth mode of G Mixolydian Pentatonic (alt).
In D Minor Six Pentatonic, the open strings sound A, D, G, and B. Down at the 5th fret of the A string lies the lowest D a guitar can play. The first three frets carry a complete octave of the mode, a genuine open-position shape.
