D flat Hungarian Minor is used for Hungarian and Romani folk, classical and film music. Think of it as a harmonic minor with a raised fourth, the classic Gypsy minor sound.
Its notes are D♭, E♭, F♭, G, A♭, B♭♭, and C. The formula is W H 1½ H H 1½ H. It is the fourth mode of A♭ Double Harmonic Major.
Also called Double Harmonic Minor and Gypsy Minor.
On the piano, the mode touches the black keys D♭, E♭, and A♭. Even so, the raised fourth is the white key G.
