About the D sharp Ultra Locrian scale
D sharp Ultra Locrian is used for jazz over diminished dominant chords and extreme, dissonant writing. Think of it as the darkest locrian of all, lowered all the way to a double-flat seventh.
Its notes are D♯, E, F♯, G, A, B, and C. The formula is H W H W W H 1½. It is the seventh mode of E Harmonic Minor.
Also called Altered Diminished.
On the piano, the mode touches the black keys D♯ and F♯. D♯ Ultra Locrian runs four white keys in a row on the piano.
