About the E Hybrid Hexachord scale
E Hybrid Hexachord is used for experimental and cinematic writing. Think of it as a six-note scale that mixes a flat second with a raised fifth.
Its notes are E, F, G♯, A, B♯, and C♯. The formula is H 1½ H 1½ H 1½.
Also called Ode to Napoleon Hexachord and Six-Tone Symmetrical.
In E Hybrid Hexachord, the open strings sound E and A. A guitarist finds the lowest E on the open low E string. This mode plays in open position, a whole octave of the scale falling within the first three frets.
