F♯ Bebop Minor scale

About the F sharp Bebop Minor scale

F sharp Bebop Minor is used for bebop solos over minor chords. Think of it as a dorian minor with an extra chromatic passing tone up top. It is F Bebop Dominant with the third lowered.

Its notes are F, G, A, B, C, D, E, and E. The formula is W H W W W H H H.

An unfretted guitar already sounds E, A, and B from this mode. Down at the 2nd fret of the low E string lies the lowest F a guitar can play. A capo at the second fret lets a guitarist play F Bebop Minor with E-shape fingerings.
