F sharp Dorian #4 is used for klezmer and eastern European folk music. Think of it as a dorian minor with a raised fourth.
Its notes are F♯, G♯, A, B♯, C♯, D♯, and E. The formula is W H 1½ H W H W. It is the fourth mode of C♯ Harmonic Minor.
Also called Ukrainian dorian, Romanian Minor, and Mi Sheberach.
F♯ Dorian ♯4 uses four black keys on the piano, F♯, G♯, C♯, and D♯. Even so, the raised fourth is the white key B♯.
