A Mixolydian b2 is used for jazz and world-flavored solos over dominant chords. Think of it as a dominant scale with a flat second, bright but with a dark half step.
Its notes are A, B♭, C♯, D, E, F♯, and G. The formula is H 1½ H W W H W. It is the fifth mode of D Harmonic Major.
Also called Inverted Harmonic Minor and Ahir Bhairav.
