A sharp Composite Blues is used for blues, rock and jazz-blues improvisation. Think of it as the full blues scale, major and minor thirds and the blue note all together.
Its notes are A♯, B♯, C♯, D, D♯, E, E♯, G, and G♯. The formula is W H H H H H W H W.
Also called Nine-Note Blues and Blues Enneatonic.
The open-string notes E, D, and G all sit inside the scale. The 1st fret of the A string is the lowest A♯ on the neck. A capo at the first fret lets a guitarist play A♯ Composite Blues with A-shape fingerings.
