Its notes are B♭, D♭, E♭, F♭, and A♭. The formula is 1½ W H 4 semitones W. It is the fifth mode of D♭ Dorian Pentatonic.
Also called Minor 7♭5 Pentatonic.
The scale shares E with the guitar's open strings. The lowest B♭ on a standard-tuned guitar sits at the 1st fret of the A string. Placed at the first fret, a capo lets B♭ Locrian Pentatonic be played with A-shape fingerings.
