About the E Bebop Locrian scale

E Bebop Locrian is used for bebop solos over half-diminished chords. Think of it as a locrian scale filled out with a chromatic passing tone. It is E Spanish Heptatonic with the third raised.

Its notes are E, F, G, A, A, B, C, and D. The formula is H W W H H H W W. It is the third mode of C Bebop Dominant.

Five open-string notes belong to E Bebop Locrian, namely E, A, D, G, and B. A guitarist finds the lowest E on the open low E string. A full root-to-root octave of the key fits within the first three frets, so it has a real open-position box.
