About the G Bebop Dorian scale
G Bebop Dorian is used for bebop and swing minor solos. Think of it as a dorian scale with a chromatic passing tone between third and fourth.
Its notes are G, A, B♭, B, C, D, E, and F. The formula is W H H H W W H W. It is the fifth mode of C Bebop Dominant.
Also called Dorian Bebop.
The open-string notes E, A, D, G, and B all sit inside this mode. On guitar, the deepest G within reach is the 3rd fret of the low E string. The scale plays in open position, a whole octave of the scale falling within the first three frets.
