B Bebop Dorian is used for bebop and swing minor solos. Think of it as a dorian scale with a chromatic passing tone between third and fourth.
Its notes are B, C♯, D, D♯, E, F♯, G♯, and A. The formula is W H H H W W H W. It is the fifth mode of E Bebop Dominant.
Also called Dorian Bebop.
Four open-string notes belong to B Bebop Dorian, namely E, A, D, and B. A guitarist finds the lowest B at the 2nd fret of the A string. With a capo at the second fret, B Bebop Dorian can be played with A-shape fingerings.
