A flat Bebop Dorian is used for bebop and swing minor solos. Think of it as a dorian scale with a chromatic passing tone between third and fourth.
Its notes are A♭, B♭, C♭, C, D♭, E♭, F, and G♭. The formula is W H H H W W H W. It is the fifth mode of D♭ Bebop Dominant.
Also called Dorian Bebop.
An unfretted guitar already sounds B from this mode. A guitarist finds the lowest A♭ at the 4th fret of the low E string. Capo the first fret to play A♭ Bebop Dorian with G-shape fingerings.
