About the F sharp Minor Six Pentatonic scale
F sharp Minor Six Pentatonic is used for jazz, funk and modal solos. Think of it as a minor pentatonic brightened with a natural sixth. It is F♯ Minor Pentatonic with the seventh lowered.
Its notes are F♯, A, B, C♯, and D♯. The formula is 1½ W W W 1½. It is the fourth mode of B Mixolydian Pentatonic (alt).
An unfretted guitar already sounds A and B from this mode. A guitarist finds the lowest F♯ at the 2nd fret of the low E string. With a capo at the second fret, F♯ Minor Six Pentatonic can be played with E-shape fingerings.
