Its notes are G, A, B♭, C, D♭, E♭, E, and F♯. The formula is W H W H W H W H.
Also called Diminished Whole-Half and Octatonic.
An unfretted guitar already sounds E, A, and G from G Diminished. Down at the 3rd fret of the low E string lies the lowest G a guitar can play.
