About the E Augmented scale
E Augmented is used for jazz and film music that wants an augmented, symmetrical color. Think of it as a symmetrical six-note scale of alternating minor thirds and half steps.
Its notes are E, G, G♯, B, B♯, and D♯. The formula is 1½ H 1½ H 1½ H. It is the second mode of D♯ Hybrid Hexachord.
Also called Augmented Hexatonic.
Two of the notes in E Augmented are black keys, G♯ and D♯.
