E Augmented scale

About the E Augmented scale

E Augmented is used for jazz and film music that wants an augmented, symmetrical color. Think of it as a symmetrical six-note scale of alternating minor thirds and half steps.

Its notes are E, G, G, B, B, and D. The formula is 1½ H 1½ H 1½ H. It is the second mode of D Hybrid Hexachord.

Also called Augmented Hexatonic.
