About the F Tritone scale
F Tritone is used for jazz and film music that wants a symmetrical, unstable color. Think of it as a symmetrical six-note scale built on the tritone. It is F Blues Diminished with the third lowered.
Its notes are F, G♭, A, B, C, and E♭. The formula is H 1½ W H 1½ W.
The open-string notes A and B all sit inside the scale. A guitarist finds the lowest F at the 1st fret of the low E string. A full root-to-root octave of F Tritone fits within the first three frets, so it has a real open-position box.
