About the G Tritone scale
G Tritone is used for jazz and film music that wants a symmetrical, unstable color. Think of it as a symmetrical six-note scale built on the tritone. It is G Blues Diminished with the third lowered.
Its notes are G, A♭, B, C♯, D, and F. The formula is H 1½ W H 1½ W.
The mode shares D, G, and B with the guitar's open strings. Down at the 3rd fret of the low E string lies the lowest G a guitar can play. The first three frets carry a complete octave of G Tritone, a genuine open-position shape.
