About the F sharp Blues Diminished scale
F sharp Blues Diminished is used for blues and jazz-blues solos. Think of it as a six-note blues scale with a diminished twist. It is F♯ Minor Blues with the fourth lowered.
Its notes are F♯, A, A♯, C, C♯, and E. The formula is 1½ H W H 1½ W.
The open-string notes E and A all sit inside the scale. A guitarist finds the lowest F♯ at the 2nd fret of the low E string. Placed at the second fret, a capo lets F♯ Blues Diminished be played with E-shape fingerings.
