About the F sharp Hybrid Hexachord scale

F sharp Hybrid Hexachord is used for experimental and cinematic writing. Think of it as a six-note scale that mixes a flat second with a raised fifth.

Its notes are F, G, A, B, D, and D. The formula is H 1½ H 1½ H 1½.

Also called Ode to Napoleon Hexachord and Six-Tone Symmetrical.

The mode shares D, G, and B with the guitar's open strings. On guitar, the deepest F within reach is the 2nd fret of the low E string. With a capo at the second fret, F Hybrid Hexachord can be played with E-shape fingerings.
