About the G Ultra Locrian scale
G Ultra Locrian is used for jazz over diminished dominant chords and extreme, dissonant writing. Think of it as the darkest locrian of all, lowered all the way to a double-flat seventh.
Its notes are G, A♭, B♭, C♭, D♭, E♭, and F♭. The formula is H W H W W H 1½. It is the seventh mode of A♭ Harmonic Minor.
Also called Altered Diminished.
Three open-string notes belong to G Ultra Locrian, namely E, G, and B. The 3rd fret of the low E string is the lowest G on the neck.
