About the A sharp Lydian #2 #6 scale
A sharp Lydian #2 #6 is used for experimental jazz and film scoring. Think of it as a heavily sharpened Lydian, raised second, fourth and sixth.
Its notes are A♯, B♯♯, C♯♯, D♯♯, E♯, G♯, and G♯♯. The formula is 1½ H W H 1½ H H. It is the second mode of G♯♯ Double Harmonic Major.
Also called Rasikapriya.
An unfretted guitar already sounds E, A, and D from the key. Down at the 1st fret of the A string lies the lowest A♯ a guitar can play. A capo at the first fret brings A♯ Lydian ♯2 ♯6 within reach of A-shape fingerings.
