Its notes are F♯, G, A, A♯, B♯, C♯, D♯, and E. The formula is H W H W H W H W. It is the second mode of E Diminished.
Also called Symmetric Diminished and Dominant Diminished.
The open-string notes E, A, and G all sit inside this scale. On guitar, the deepest F♯ within reach is the 2nd fret of the low E string. A capo at the second fret brings F♯ Diminished Half-Whole within reach of E-shape fingerings.
