About the B Chromatic scale
B Chromatic is used for passing tones, chromatic runs and free, atonal writing. Think of it as all twelve notes, every half step in the octave.
Its notes are B, C, C♯, D, D♯, E, E♯, F♯, G, G♯, A, and A♯. The formula is H H H H H H H H H H H H.
Also called Twelve-Tone Scale.
The scale shares E, A, D, G, and B with the guitar's open strings. A guitarist finds the lowest B at the 2nd fret of the A string. With a capo at the second fret, B Chromatic can be played with A-shape fingerings.
