About the G Chromatic scale
G Chromatic is used for passing tones, chromatic runs and free, atonal writing. Think of it as all twelve notes, every half step in the octave.
Its notes are G, A♭, A, B♭, B, C, C♯, D, E♭, E, F, and F♯. The formula is H H H H H H H H H H H H.
Also called Twelve-Tone Scale.
The open-string notes E, A, D, G, and B all sit inside G Chromatic. A guitarist finds the lowest G at the 3rd fret of the low E string.
