About the F Chromatic scale
F Chromatic is used for passing tones, chromatic runs and free, atonal writing. Think of it as all twelve notes, every half step in the octave.
Its notes are F, G♭, G, A♭, A, B♭, B, C, D♭, D, E♭, and E. The formula is H H H H H H H H H H H H.
Also called Twelve-Tone Scale.
Five open-string notes belong to F Chromatic, namely E, A, D, G, and B. Down at the 1st fret of the low E string lies the lowest F a guitar can play. A capo at the first fret lets a guitarist play F Chromatic with E-shape fingerings.
