D sharp Bebop Altered is used for bebop solos over altered dominant chords. Think of it as an altered dominant color built into a bebop scale.
Its notes are D♯, E, G, G♯, A♯, B, C♯, and D. The formula is H 1½ H W H W H H.
Also called Bebop Phrygian Dominant and Altered Bebop.
The open-string notes E, D, G, and B all sit inside the scale. Down at the 6th fret of the A string lies the lowest D♯ a guitar can play. A capo at the first fret brings D♯ Bebop Altered within reach of D-shape fingerings.
