About the F sharp Augmented scale
F sharp Augmented is used for jazz and film music that wants an augmented, symmetrical color. Think of it as a symmetrical six-note scale of alternating minor thirds and half steps.
Its notes are F♯, A, A♯, C♯, D, and E♯. The formula is 1½ H 1½ H 1½ H. It is the second mode of E♯ Hybrid Hexachord.
Also called Augmented Hexatonic.
The black keys F♯, A♯, and C♯ belong to F♯ Augmented. Even so, the raised fifth is the white key D.
