About the G sharp Augmented scale
G sharp Augmented is used for jazz and film music that wants an augmented, symmetrical color. Think of it as a symmetrical six-note scale of alternating minor thirds and half steps.
Its notes are G♯, B, B♯, D♯, E, and G. The formula is 1½ H 1½ H 1½ H. It is the second mode of G Hybrid Hexachord.
Also called Augmented Hexatonic.
G♯ Augmented draws two black keys from the piano, G♯ and D♯. That raised fifth spells out to the white key E.
