About the A Spanish Heptatonic scale
A Spanish Heptatonic is used for flamenco and Spanish-flavored music. Think of it as the Spanish gypsy scale, a phrygian dominant filled out to eight notes. It is A Bebop Locrian with the fourth lowered.
Its notes are A, B♭, C, C♯, D, E, F, and G. The formula is H W H H W H W W. It is the third mode of F Bebop Major.
Also called Flamenco Scale and Spanish Eight-Tone.
An unfretted guitar already sounds E, A, D, and G from the key. The open A string is the lowest A on the neck.
