B Prometheus is used for impressionist and mystical concert music. Think of it as the mystic chord of Scriabin turned into a scale, a raised fourth with no fifth. It is B Whole Tone with the sixth raised.
Its notes are B, C♯, D♯, E♯, G♯, and A. The formula is W W W 1½ H W.
Also called Mystic Scale and Mystic Chord.
This scale shares A and B with the guitar's open strings. The lowest B on a standard-tuned guitar sits at the 2nd fret of the A string. Capo the second fret to play B Prometheus with A-shape fingerings.
