C Prometheus is used for impressionist and mystical concert music. Think of it as the mystic chord of Scriabin turned into a scale, a raised fourth with no fifth. It is C Whole Tone with the sixth raised.
Its notes are C, D, E, F♯, A, and A♯. The formula is W W W 1½ H W.
Also called Mystic Scale and Mystic Chord.
E, A, and D are open guitar strings that sit inside this mode, ready to drone under a riff. On guitar, the deepest C within reach is the 3rd fret of the A string.
