About the G flat Prometheus scale
G flat Prometheus is used for impressionist and mystical concert music. Think of it as the mystic chord of Scriabin turned into a scale, a raised fourth with no fifth. It is G♭ Whole Tone with the sixth raised.
Its notes are G♭, A♭, B♭, C, E♭, and E. The formula is W W W 1½ H W.
Also called Mystic Scale and Mystic Chord.
An unfretted guitar already sounds E from the key. The 2nd fret of the low E string is the lowest G♭ on the neck. Placed at the second fret, a capo lets G♭ Prometheus be played with E-shape fingerings.
