About the G Prometheus scale
G Prometheus is used for impressionist and mystical concert music. Think of it as the mystic chord of Scriabin turned into a scale, a raised fourth with no fifth. It is G Whole Tone with the sixth raised.
Its notes are G, A, B, C♯, E, and E♯. The formula is W W W 1½ H W.
Also called Mystic Scale and Mystic Chord.
An unfretted guitar already sounds E, A, G, and B from the scale. A guitarist finds the lowest G at the 3rd fret of the low E string. The first three frets carry a complete octave of G Prometheus, a genuine open-position shape.
