About the F Synthetic scale
F Synthetic is used for experimental and cinematic writing. Think of it as a made-up six-note scale with a raised fourth and a flat sixth. It is F Whole Tone with the seventh raised.
Its notes are F, G, A, B, D♭, and E. The formula is W W W W 1½ H. It is the sixth mode of G Prometheus.
The open-string notes E, A, G, and B all sit inside the key. On guitar, the deepest F within reach is the 1st fret of the low E string. F Synthetic sits in true open position, with a complete octave of the scale inside the first three frets.
