F sharp Prometheus is used for impressionist and mystical concert music. Think of it as the mystic chord of Scriabin turned into a scale, a raised fourth with no fifth. It is F♯ Whole Tone with the sixth raised.
Its notes are F♯, G♯, A♯, B♯, D♯, and E. The formula is W W W 1½ H W.
Also called Mystic Scale and Mystic Chord.
The open-string note E sits inside the key. On guitar, the deepest F♯ within reach is the 2nd fret of the low E string. A capo at the second fret lets a guitarist play F♯ Prometheus with E-shape fingerings.
