About the A sharp Prometheus scale
A sharp Prometheus is used for impressionist and mystical concert music. Think of it as the mystic chord of Scriabin turned into a scale, a raised fourth with no fifth. It is A♯ Whole Tone with the sixth raised.
Its notes are A♯, B♯, D, E, G, and G♯. The formula is W W W 1½ H W.
Also called Mystic Scale and Mystic Chord.
This scale shares E, D, and G with the guitar's open strings. Down at the 1st fret of the A string lies the lowest A♯ a guitar can play. A full root-to-root octave of A♯ Prometheus fits within the first three frets, so it has a real open-position box.
