About the G sharp Prometheus scale
G sharp Prometheus is used for impressionist and mystical concert music. Think of it as the mystic chord of Scriabin turned into a scale, a raised fourth with no fifth. It is G♯ Whole Tone with the sixth raised.
Its notes are G♯, A♯, B♯, D, E♯, and F♯. The formula is W W W 1½ H W.
Also called Mystic Scale and Mystic Chord.
In G♯ Prometheus, the open string sounds D. The lowest G♯ on a standard-tuned guitar sits at the 4th fret of the low E string. A capo at the first fret brings G♯ Prometheus within reach of G-shape fingerings.
