G sharp Bebop Dorian is used for bebop and swing minor solos. Think of it as a dorian scale with a chromatic passing tone between third and fourth.
Its notes are G♯, A♯, B, B♯, C♯, D♯, E♯, and F♯. The formula is W H H H W W H W. It is the fifth mode of C♯ Bebop Dominant.
Also called Dorian Bebop.
This scale shares B with the guitar's open strings. On guitar, the deepest G♯ within reach is the 4th fret of the low E string. Placed at the first fret, a capo lets G♯ Bebop Dorian be played with G-shape fingerings.
