About the A sharp Chromatic scale
A sharp Chromatic is used for passing tones, chromatic runs and free, atonal writing. Think of it as all twelve notes, every half step in the octave.
Its notes are A♯, B, B♯, C♯, D, D♯, E, E♯, F♯, G, G♯, and A. The formula is H H H H H H H H H H H H.
Also called Twelve-Tone Scale.
In A♯ Chromatic, the open strings sound E, A, D, G, and B. A guitarist finds the lowest A♯ at the 1st fret of the A string. Capo the first fret to play A♯ Chromatic with A-shape fingerings.
