About the G sharp Chromatic scale
G sharp Chromatic is used for passing tones, chromatic runs and free, atonal writing. Think of it as all twelve notes, every half step in the octave.
Its notes are G♯, A, A♯, B, B♯, C♯, D, D♯, E, E♯, F♯, and G. The formula is H H H H H H H H H H H H.
Also called Twelve-Tone Scale.
In G♯ Chromatic, the open strings sound E, A, D, G, and B. A guitarist finds the lowest G♯ at the 4th fret of the low E string. A capo at the first fret lets a guitarist play G♯ Chromatic with G-shape fingerings.
